Thorn

Despite all its faults this sketch (July 29 2003) remains my favorite of all those I made that summer in Marbach. While I dislike the blossom itself, the stem, thorn, drop of liquid, and leaf still draw my attention. With the leaf I wanted to forego realistic proportions and structures and instead focus on a particular set of folds and curves.
