Blast From the Past #1
When I first got my scanner (years and years ago ... 1998?) I did not have access to a bunch of server-side scripting languages to help me put together my digital photo albums. Instead, I relied on simple <meta> tags and REFRESH so I could create a simple slide-show. I was going through some old directories on my server and found the photos and pages I used for one such slide-show, and decided to adapt it a bit for PHP.
Move ahead a year and a half. This is a picture of me entering the kitchen of our new house in Idaho—October 27, 1979 (notice how well I remember dates?). As you can tell, I was not a very fashion-conscious youngster. The TV pictured in the photo sat around in our garage for years. It was an old Sharp that my parents got as a wedding gift. Until a few years ago we still had the stepping stool it’s sitting on, too. As for the heinous carpet ... we eventually changed that.
