Marbach Sketches
This page links to a handful of sketches I drew during the Sommerschule Literaturwissenschaft (2003) in Marbach, Germany. I concentrate best when I focus my mind—and my hands—by doodling and sketching. During our extensive daily seminars I spent time putting pen to paper and reproducing the images that came to mind during the discussions. What follows is not a representative sampling, for what I have scanned is composed only of those sketches not claimed by my colleagues at the end of the Sommerschule. Several other works were commissioned and are no longer in my possession.
Medium-sized versions of each image are on a separate page (click the thumbnails); slightly larger versions are provided as well. All images were sketched with rollerball and ballpoint pens on A4 copy paper.
